Prof. Chen, born 1964, currently serves as Professor of Accounting and Dean of the Advanced College of Accounting and Auditing at Shanghai University of Finance and Economics. He also chairs the Ministry of Education's Teaching Guidance Committee for Accounting, serves as Vice President of the Chinese Accounting Society, and President of the Shanghai Accounting Society; he previously served as Vice President of SUFE and Dean of its School of Accounting. Professor Chen currently serves as Independent Director of Semiconductor Manufacturing International Corporation. Professor Chen specializes in financial accounting, auditing, risk management, and corporate governance. He has received honors including the Ministry of Education's inaugural Teaching Master award, the National May 1 Labor Medal, Shanghai Model Worker, and Shanghai Excellent CPC Member. He was selected for the national "New Century Hundred-Thousand-Ten Thousand Talent Project". Professor Chen obtained his Master's and Doctoral degrees in Economics (Accounting) from SUFE. He is a Chang Jiang Scholar Distinguished Scholar Distinguished Professor appointed by the Ministry of Education and an expert receiving special State Council allowances.
